How to Apply
It's easy to attain a long-lasting spray cork coating by following these instructions.
Stage 1
Inspection
Inspect for asbestos. If present, contact your local government agency about proper remediation and protection.
Stage 2
Surface Preparation

Step 1
Remove rust and/or loose paint with a wire brush or power tool.

Step 2
Clean the surface thoroughly with a pressure washer.

Step 3
Repair any cracks, holes and voids in excess of 1/8”.

Step 4
Tighten screws and other fasteners.

Step 5
Seal screw holes and other penetrations in metal cladding.

Step 6
Allow surface to dry (from 6-24 hours, depending on ambient humidity and temperature.)
Stage 3
Protect
Mask and protect adjacent surfaces you don’t want coated. Lay down tarps to protect underlying grass and landscaping.
Stage 4
Prime

Step 1
Dilute and mix Universal Primer: 4 parts water to 1 part primer.

Step 2
Apply 1st coat by roller or spray application. Let dry for 4-5 hours.

Step 3
Apply 2nd coat. Let dry for 4-5 hours.
Stage 5
Mix Spray Cork

Step 1
Open 12kg pail of SprayCork.

Step 2
Add 1 bottle Inkercork colorant per 12kg pail of SprayCork.

Step 3
Mix with a mixing paddle at 800rpms for approximately 2 minutes until colorant is uniformly dispersed.

Step 4
Add 300ml to 1L (10-32 oz) of water gradually, depending on local weather conditions. Higher temperatures and lower humidity require more water.
Important: add the same amount of water to each pail to ensure uniform consistency.

Step 5
Mix again for minimum 2 minutes until a smooth consistency is attained.

Step 6
Allow mixture to rest for 5 minutes before spraying.
Stage 6
Equipment Setup
Recommended Equipment
Graco RTX 5000 Texture Sprayer
Nozzles: #6 for SprayCork Thick, #5 for SprayCork Thin.

Step 1
Wet hose and prime system in accordance with Operating Manual.

Step 2
Pour spray cork mixture into hopper.

Step 3
Close prime valve. Open air control valve.

Step 4
Ensure hose is kink free with minimum amount of bend.

Step 5
Begin to spray into an empty bucket. Once spray cork mixture appears, move gun into hopper and spray until a sold stream of material is circulating.

Step 6
Adjust air control valve and flow adjustment nut on gun until a uniform spray pattern is achieved.
Stage 7
Application
One 12kg pail of Spray Cork will provide coverage of approximately 6m2 / 65ft2. Do not apply spray cork during rain or high winds. Apply between ambient temperatures of 5-35 degrees Celsuis.

Step 1
Apply first coat of SprayCork at a uniform thickness of 1-1.5mm, spraying 40 – 70 cm from the surface in horizontal movements at 60-70 psi. Allow 6-24 hours to dry.

Step 2
Apply second coat using the same technique and allow to dry 6-24 hours.

Step 3
Apply a third, very thin layer at longer distance using a circular pattern to disrupt shadows.
